Nuclear Fusion, which utilises high-performing magnets and generates heat up to 100 million degrees centigrade is going to be a key plank in our 2050 Net Zero Strategy. Dr David Kingham, Executive Vice Chairman at Tokamak Energy Ltd, is leading the charge on the route to this elusive goal. He has successfully raised over £110 million, with £10 million coming from the Government. We have the opportunity to lead the world in this new technology but must ensure that we do not trip at the last hurdle and hand the baton to another country. The plan is to have a Compact Fusion Plant up and running by 2030.
