It was a pleasure to be joined by Tim Sherwood, who has been the Chair of the Satellite Applications Catapult based in Harwell for nearly nine years. Tim began by discussing the National Space Strategy and stressed the importance of creating new opportunities and taking risks in order to stimulate an effective and innovative space-based ecosystem. For Tim, the potential of PNT capability has not yet been fully explored and the government’s ‘controversial’ investment in OneWeb presents a fantastic opportunity that is worth taking advantage of. Industry and government must work together and the start of a National Space Policy points to a promising future.
