It was a pleasure to welcome Gary Aitkenhead, Chief Executive of the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory. DSTL works for all parts of Defence and Security, the Home Office and the Police. With the country being engaged in Sub Threshold Warfare or ‘Grey Zone Warfare’, this creates a massive leadership challenge. We are in a period of rapid change with a move away from legacy systems and Government and Business increasingly need to share resources and partner. Gary Aitkenhead described this new Iterative Model and in the impending Integrated Review we will see an increasing emphasis on cyber, space, AI and autonomous vehicles.
