Dr David Smith is a British technologist, with varied career spanning multiple industrial sectors. As the UK’s National Technology Adviser, Dr Smith works across government to champion the UK science and tech industries, building networks across industry and academia, bringing the best minds into policymaking.
Dr Smith has decades of R&D experience across the technology industry. Most recently, he led the approach to innovation of the global aerospace and power company Rolls-Royce.
Dr Smith has established himself as a leader of innovative technology organizations. Whilst Managing Director of Roke Manor, it received the Queens Award for Innovation.
