
Ed Arnold
Ed Arnold has 18 years’ experiencein defence across the private sector, academia and as a British Army Officer. Hespecialises in UK defence policy, National Security Strategies and Europeansecurity.
Prior to rejoining The D Group, he led European security atthe Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) where his research was the genesisof the UK-German Trinity House Agreement and Kensington Treaty. Ed has providedevidence to multiple Parliamentary committees and is regularly in the UK andinternational media commenting on defence.
In the private sector he was previously Director of Strategyand Operations at The D Group where his clients included multiple governmentdepartments and multi-national and SME private companies. Prior to consultancy,Ed was an infantry Officer within the British Army. His military career wasprimarily spent overseas, including deployments to Afghanistan and East Africaand a posting at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe during the 2014Ukraine crisis.
Ed holds a MA War Studies from King’s College London and aBA (Hons) in International Politics from the University of Stirling, Scotland.
