Ben is a Senior Civil Servant with 25 years of experience working in Central Government, focusing on foreign policy and defence issues.  He joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 2001, worked in the Home Office in the build up to the 2012 Olympic Games and has previously worked as the Director Cyber, the Director of the Global Defence Network, the Deputy Chief of Defence Intelligence, and the DG Middle East in the Cabinet Office.  He has also worked overseas in Brussels, Kabul and Vienna.  Ben has extensive experience working with government ministers, senior officials and international partners on policy, transformation and operational delivery.  In his current role, Ben leads the teams responsible for Defence Industrial Strategy, Policy and Programmes.  Ben has an MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
