Dominic Herrington was appointed Executive Director for Transforming Delivery Directorate in June 2022. This role sits within His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, which is an Executive Agency sponsored by the Ministry of Justice. Dominic is responsible for developing operating models; leading programmes of workforce transformation and resource management; and developing digital / technological plans. He is a member of the HMPPS Leadership Team.

Dominic was the National Schools Commissioner from 2019-2022. His previous roles include: Director of the Academies Group at the Department for Education and a range of senior policies and programme roles at DfE. Before that he worked at Warwick and Birmingham Universities. In the 2023 New Year Honours, he was awarded a Companion of the Order of the Bath for services to education.
