Getting Britain Building: Unlocking development from housing to major infrastructure
Event details
Getting Britain building sits at the very heart of the Government’s growth mission, with two key goals set out in the Plan for Change: building 1.5 million homes over the course of the Parliament; and determining at least 150 major infrastructure projects to the same timeframe. In order to hit these goals, the Government has moved fast to bring reform to the planning system, bolster the delivery of social housing and established the New Towns Taskforce. Having just introduced the Planning and Infrastructure Bill into Parliament, and with a 10 Year Infrastructure Strategy due alongside the Spending Review, this session is an opportunity to hear from the two Directors General overseeing much of this work in government about the reforms already enacted, and to discuss the shape of the programme to come.
