Commercial X, in line with many other functions, is looking to drive innovation to improve its output, and act as a template for wider innovation across MOD’s procurement and commercial teams. The potential to use AI and associated technology solutions is high on the agenda, and this session is designed to explore three issues (based on the experience of our members):
1) The Case For Change – what areas of focus in working with Commercial X/wider MOD Commercial Functions could be candidates for enhanced technical solutions? What issues could they help solve, and what tangible benefits could they deliver?
2) The Change Journey – what innovations and new solutions are your organisation working on/using, and what have you seen other partners do that you believe are both effective and are delivering tangible benefits?
3) The Cultural and Operational Barriers – what objections have you come up against to date, and how have you seen these overcome (and which are the most difficult to tackle in your experience)?
The roundtable will be attended by Paul Towers-France from Commercial X, Hannah Boreham and Robert Whitman from Defence Digital. We will ask them to make a very brief introduction, and will then ask participants to input their thoughts and experiences on each of these three ‘exam questions’, allowing plenty of time for conversation and synthesis. We will also write up a brief summary of the event for onward cascade.
