A chartered civil engineer, Stephen first joined the Balfour Beatty Group in 1981 as a graduate engineer.

As Group sector lead, UK Energy, Stephen is responsible for leading Balfour Beatty’s significant current and future UK energy market opportunities spanning the full energy transition and security spectrum – hydrogen, carbon capture, new nuclear, nuclear fusion, Small Modular Reactors and offshore wind as well as strengthening the UK’s electricity grid. He also leads Balfour Beatty’s Power Transmission & Distribution and Rail, and acts as Balfour Beatty’s shareholder representative on the Board of the company’s Hong Kong joint venture business, Gammon.

Stephen has an MBA from City University and is a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
