The Design Principles of National Infrastructure

by

Sadie Morgan OBE, Commissioner of the National Infrastructure Commission, emphasised from the outset that good Design Principles were transformational and the importance of taking note of what mattered to all of us, giving us control and a sense of belonging. We are all aware of the Government Initiative “Build, Build Build” with extra importance placed on Better and Greener. The Design Principles are: Climate, People, Places and Value. The Government has also legislated that all Infrastructure Projects will have a Board Level Design Champion, a Design Panel where appropriate, with the IPA overseeing this. A copy of Sadie’s accompanying slides can be found here.
