Professor Dame Ottoline Leyser, Chief Executive at UK Research and Innovation, spoke about the need to shift our focus towards developing a more collaborative and diverse UK innovation system. Dame Ottoline outlined her vision for a holistic system of excellence which prioritises and drives diversification through funding mechanisms, career pathways and increasing connectivity both across institutions and the wider innovation system. Through such an interdisciplinary and collective effort, the UK will be better equipped to deliver against its future national innovation and industrial targets.
