The advisory board is a particularly engaged one and its hugely impressive range of skills and experience across many disciplines, sectors and geographies actively supports the D executive team and members.
 
The international representatives are all senior, highly connected experts concerning their allocated territories. They are selected on the basis of their ability to help our members navigate the top levels of their nation’s private and public sectors.

Admiral of The Fleet, Michael Boyce was a highly admired Chief of the Defence Staff. Since leaving the Royal Navy he has advised leading UK corporations active in infrastructure, IT and Defence. He is Chairman of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and is a Knight of the Garter

Liz Symons served with distinction in various Labour governments, holding Foreign Office and Defence ministerial portfolios. A past board member of British Airways, she is an active member of the Lords, advises a range of professional businesses and chairs the leading middle-east networks

Paul is a hugely experienced UK business leader. Paul is currently Chairman of Essentra PLC and Forterra PLC and was formerly a director of Invensys PLC. He was Group Managing Director of Balfour Beatty before becoming Chief Executive of VT Group PLC in 2002. He was also Chairman of John Laing Infrastructure Fund.

Elizabeth, a US national, is one of the UK’s foremost commentators and experts on the impact of social media in government, business and diplomacy. She previously founded and built Facebook’s Politics and Government division for the EMEA region, heading the team from London during the Arab Spring.

David was the Tata Group Europe Head Up til December 2018, whilst it was one of the UK’s largest private sector employers. Prior to Tata he was a senior British diplomat, holding senior roles including Ambassador to Greece and Albania and Charge d’Affaires in Former Yugoslavia. He is now a strategy consultancy and an advisor and non-executive director of a range of high growth companies. He speaks and writes on management issues, including on how to maximise the relationship between business and government.

Philippa is an acknowledged thought leader in the critical area of business ethics. She has been director of the Institute of Business Ethics since 2001. She serves on the advisory board of the Centre for Corporate Reputation at the Saïd Business School at Oxford University, and is a visiting fellow of the university. Philippa is also a trustee of Rand corporation .She is also chairman of the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust

Matthew is an advisor to Vodafone Group, having spent 6 years on the Group Executive Committee in charge of all group communications. Advisor of Vodafone Group plc since July 31, 2017. He was previously in the Foreign Office where his last appointment was as ambassador to Finland , prior to which he held a number of senior positions - including Head of the Information Technology Strategy Unit and Head of the European Union Presidency Unit

Steve is a hugely experience UK senior executive in the energy sector. He recently stepped down as Vice President for GE Power in Europe prior to which he was UK country president for Alstom responsible for the company’s energy and transport activities in the UK. He played a leading role in the acquisition of Alstom’s energy business by GE. He is a Pro Chancellor of Staffordshire university, non-Executive Director of the University Hospitals Trust of North Midlands and is Deputy Chair of the French British chamber of commerce.

Managing Director


Seumas is responsible for delivering all aspects of The D Group’s services. He joined us in 2017 after roles at the top of the UK EPC and outsourcing sector and prior to that as a Major-General in the UK Armed Forces. He has recent experience in the Middle East and is working to further strengthen both a UK and International Pan-Sector network for Members.

Seumas Kerr CBE
Managing Director

Margot joined Strategy International in 2017 and now coordinates all D Group events, looks after the Managing Director’s diary and assists with account management. She has a MA in International Relations from London Metropolitan University and a BA in Applied Foreign Languages, Technical Translation from Paris 7 – Denis Diderot. Languages: French and Spanish.

Ed is the Director of Development at The D Group. His role includes being an Account Director across our Membership and Programme Director of The Future Group – our bespoke personal development programme for future CEOs. Prior to joining The D Group, he spent 4 years as a management consultant focusing on strategy and business design for multiple government departments. Ed’s early career was as a British Army Officer.

Michelle spent nearly 20 years throughout the Middle East and Africa, liaising between governments and international private entities; and now runs a business intelligence consultancy firm with her husband. She speaks, with varying degrees of fluency, Arabic, German, French, Thai and Swahili.
