Having first studied geology and petroleum geology at the University of Aberdeen he worked in the North Sea, United States of America and Thailand before returning to Newcastle University to study for a Masters in Engineering Geology. He joined KBR in 2002 and has fulfilled several roles including time embedded into the UK’s Permanent Joint Headquarters (PJHQ), he was deployed with the Joint Force Logistics Component (JFLogC) to Afghanistan in 2006 and he spent almost two years at the Home Office. He has also worked with a range of other public and private sector clients around the world including the Australian Defence Force, UK Special Forces, UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Department for International Development and a range of UK Emergency Services.
Currently, Kris is serving as the Business Support Director at KBS Maritime, a joint venture established in 2021 between KBR and BAE Systems. This venture was created to manage the Facilities, Assets, Infrastructure, and Services at Portsmouth Naval Base. In this role, Kris is responsible for driving the transformation programme across the base, as well as overseeing the Supply Chain, Human Resources, and IM&T functions.
